3D Crafts

Alice Le Biez, French young designer has realized a set of three bowls, printed in 3D ceramics. The shape of each bowls reminds traditional ceramics technique. She created with her project an illusion of a hand-made bowl by the design but also by the making process. Her 3D printing object explores the link between traditional skills and new technologies and demonstrates that designer can use the new technologies as a tool to go further in their work and discover a new field of creation.

Breaking the 3-D mould.

The shoe collection was to discover ways and limitations in 3-D printing technology to push the boundaries of these constraints and change these processes of the footwear manufacturing. It is clear that 3-D printing technology can not only achieve footwear production, but also allow a large amount of flexibility in the design stage, as well as allowing me as a shoe designer to push the limits of design structures. This collection could be part of the further development of using this technology in design and manufacturing processes, and in particular in relation to the production of footwear.

Between

Daeki Shim and HyoJun Shim produced the alphabet B by getting a motive from Venn diagram of a plane shape, which expresses the meaning of the word Between. They also produced B 3-dimensionally through the 3D printer. These two 3D printed symbols are seen as the alphabet B of the same plane when they are seen at the front. However, its form changes according to the switch of an angle, and viewers can see the two 3D printed symbols were designed in an individually different structure.
