Huai’an Zhongshuge
The Huai'an Zhongshuge bookstore reimagines architectural space as a cosmic journey, blending surrealism with structural precision. Dominated by exaggerated three dimensional forms, the interior evokes celestial mechanics through concentric rings and irregular geometric structures that mimic astronomical instruments. Bookshelves curve and spiral like planetary orbits, their dynamic arrangements echoing the motion of celestial bodies. Scattered books, akin to fragments of infinite worlds, nestle within these sculptural shelves.
Huai’an Zhongshuge Bookstore by Li Xiang has been selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Huai’an Zhongshuge Bookstore won the Platinum A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award that celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
